LaVega Cigars Announces Il Cane Release to Benefit Dogs Inc.
LaVega Cigars has revealed its next release, Il Cane, a charitable project set to debut on November 11, Veterans Day. A portion of proceeds will benefit Dogs Inc., a nonprofit providing guide and service dogs to veterans and the blind.
Inspiration Behind Il Cane
The project began after LaVega founder Aaron Paoletta hired Dawson Katz as a sales representative. In early conversations, Katz shared the mission of Dogs Inc. This led Paoletta to revisit a blend he had developed, and the idea for Il Cane—Italian for the dog—took shape.
Paoletta expressed his excitement: “As an animal lover and having a dog of my own, this project is personal. These dogs save lives, and I am thrilled to support them through our cigar community.”
The Blend and Vitola
Il Cane will be released as a 5 x 54 robusto, crafted at Tabacalera Las Lavas in the Dominican Republic. The blend features:
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Colorado Corojo
Binder: Ecuadorian Habano
Filler: Peruvian tobacco plus undisclosed components
The cigar offers a unique mix of flavour and depth, honouring its charitable inspiration.
Band Design
Special attention was given to the cigar’s bands. Printed on a linen and cotton blend, the design includes a purple footerfor Dogs Inc. and dog paw motifs. The centre text reads “Un Cane è il migliore amico dell’uomo”—a dog is a man’s best friend.
