A Smoke with Soul: LeRoy Neiman 2025 Collector’s Edition Cigars

In a heartfelt fusion of art, music, and craftsmanship, J.C. Newman Cigar Co. is launching the LeRoy Neiman 2025 Collector’s Edition cigars at the Premium Cigar Association trade show (11–14 April) in New Orleans. This marks the third consecutive collaboration between America’s oldest family-owned premium cigar manufacturer and the LeRoy Neiman and Janet Byrne Neiman Foundation. As in previous years, all profits from the release will go toward supporting arts education in public schools—this time focusing on schools in Tampa, Florida, where J.C. Newman’s historic El Reloj factory is located.

The 2025 edition pays homage to Neiman’s vibrant painting Jazz Horns, an electrifying visual representation of the spontaneity and rhythm of jazz. “We chose this image because of the return of our annual trade show to New Orleans, the birthplace of jazz,” explains Drew Newman, fourth-generation owner of J.C. Newman.

Jazz was a wellspring of inspiration for LeRoy Neiman, who spent countless evenings sketching live performances and mingling with legends like Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington. “You could always hear jazz standards echoing from his studio while the scent of a fresh cigar filled the air,” recalls Tara Zabor, Executive Director of the Neiman Foundation. “In Jazz Horns, you can almost hear the music and feel the pulse of the room—it’s where LeRoy came alive.”

Each cigar is handcrafted at the El Reloj factory in Tampa and measures 6 1/4” x 52 in a Torpedo shape. It features a rich Havana Rosado wrapper, a Florida Sun Grown binder, and a carefully curated blend of aged filler tobaccos from Latin America. Limited to just 15,000 cigars, the release is presented in 750 cabinets of 20 cigars each, with a suggested retail price of $22 per stick. Shipments are scheduled for the autumn.

The presentation is just as remarkable as the cigar itself. Every cabinet contains a lithograph of Jazz Horns, while each individual cigar is wrapped in the same artwork. Beneath the cabinet, aficionados will discover a surprise print of Neiman’s famously paint-splattered studio floor—adding a tactile connection to the artist’s world. All packaging is produced by Vrijdag Premium Printing in the Netherlands.

This isn’t just a cigar—it’s a curated experience,” says Zabor. “From the moment you open the cabinet, you’re stepping into LeRoy’s universe. We want every collector to feel they own a piece of his creative spirit.”

For connoisseurs who appreciate the finer things—fine art, fine cigars, and giving back—this year’s LeRoy Neiman Collector’s Edition offers a unique and meaningful indulgence. And with every puff, you’re supporting the next generation of artists who just might be sketching their own jazz scenes in a public school classroom, thanks to your contribution.
