Los Statos Deluxe Maduro: A Collaborative Masterpiece by Matt Booth and Justin Andrews
Los Statos Deluxe is an old brand that was resurrected and reimagined by Forged Cigar Company last year. This year during the PCA Convention & Trade Show, Forged showed off a new instalment, the Los Statos Deluxe Maduro. This cigar is a collaboration between Justin Andrews and Matt Booth. Andrews is an executive at STG while Matt Booth is famous for his Room101 brand, which he sold to STG last year.
STG makes the Los Statos Deluxe Maduro in their HATSA factory in Danli, Honduras with a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and filler from Honduras and the Dominican Republic. There are four sizes, robusto, toro, Gordo and Churchill, all come in boxes of 20 cigars.
In a press release, Matt Wilson, senior brand manager for Los Statos Deluxe, said, “Los Statos Deluxe Maduro takes what we started with last year’s re-release of the brand and brings it to the next level. Calling on modern imagery and a blend that is equally provocative, we are continuing to evolve Los Statos to appeal to modern smokers and traditionalists alike. When you factor in the combined blending expertise of Matt Booth and Justin Andrews with the support of our Honduran team, we’re sure this cigar will be a big seller when it hits retail in August.”
Matt Booth said, “Los Statos Deluxe is commanding the respect it has long since earned and with our new Maduro expression, we expect to introduce a new wave of enthusiasts to this great brand. I’m very proud of the blend and the packaging and the work Justin and I did to make this project everything it should be. We have grafted this brand franchise into the product landscape of our industry and we look forward to its evergreen presence.”
