Luciano Cigars Unveils Limited Edition Maria Lucia at PCA 2025
Luciano Cigars honours memory, legacy and craftsmanship with a special edition of Maria Lucia for PCA 2025—featuring a complex new blend and a deeply personal story behind the brand.
A Personal Tribute in Every Draw
At this year’s PCA Convention & Trade Show in New Orleans, Luciano Cigars has unveiled a highly limited and emotionally resonant edition of its Maria Lucia line. This 6 x 52 sublime vitola offers not only a modified blend, but also a continuation of one of the most touching origin stories in the cigar world.
The 2025 edition features a Mexican San Andrés ligero wrapper, dual binders of Connecticut Broadleaf and Ecuadorian Sumatra, and a filler blend composed of Brazilian mata fina alongside leaves from South Africa, Nicaragua and Peru. The result is a profile described as profoundly flavourful and textured, matching the emotional depth of its inspiration.
Crafted at Luciano Cigars’ factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, only 1,000 boxes of 10 cigars will be released, each priced at $20 per cigar or $200 per box. Shipping is expected to begin in the final week of May 2025.
A Legacy of Grace and Strength
The Maria Lucia line is a tribute to Luciano Meirelles’ late mother, who passed away when he was just 12 years old. Years after her passing, Meirelles’ daughter, Deborah, had a vivid dream of a woman she did not recognise. Inspired by the dream, she drew the woman’s face—and the resemblance to her grandmother, whom she had never met or seen, was uncanny. That very sketch now graces the Maria Lucia cigar box, symbolising not only family memory but a nearly supernatural connection across generations.
“This release represents everything we stand for: meaning, memory, and mastery,” said Meirelles. “It’s a personal offering to our industry’s finest retailers, and a symbol of the values that built our company.”
More than a premium cigar, this release is an embodiment of legacy, resilience, and reverence. As Meirelles continues to shape Luciano Cigars under the Constella Group, the Maria Lucia line stands as both a best-seller and a beacon of the emotional core that defines the brand.
