Lure Cigars Announces 2025 Release of “The Last Cast” Limited Edition Toro

June 20, 2025 Inspector X 2 min read

Lure Cigars pays tribute once again to the late Lou Cross Jr. with the 2025 release of The Last Cast, a bold, full-bodied toro celebrating family, storytelling, and cherished memories.

Lure Cigars™ has officially announced the second annual release of The Last Cast, a limited-edition cigar created to honour the memory of Lou Cross Jr., father of brand owner Lou Cross. The 2025 edition maintains the spirit and sentiment of the original, while offering a refined, slightly larger 6×54 toro format for a richer experience.

Named after the poignant fishing term signalling the final cast of the day, The Last Cast embodies that hopeful moment before sunset — one more bite, one more tale, one more moment to savour. For Lou Cross Jr., a lifelong outdoorsman, fisherman, and cigar enthusiast, that final cast was often paired with a cigar and good company. This cigar stands as a heartfelt tribute to those simple but meaningful pleasures.

The Last Cast represents that final memory I shared with my dad — a cigar, a story, and a shared silence,” says Lou Cross. “It’s about connection, tradition, and remembering the ones we love.”

This full-bodied blend delivers flavour notes of espresso, dark fig, leather, and baking spice — rich and contemplative, perfect for moments of reflection. While similar in profile to the 2024 release, this year’s toro adds strength and complexity without compromising elegance.

June holds special significance for Lure Cigars: it marks Lou Cross Jr.’s birthday, Father’s Day, and his passing. The Last Cast release, therefore, isn’t just a cigar — it’s a ritual of remembrance, intended to be smoked slowly and with intention.

The 2025 edition begins shipping to retailers the week of 25 June. The factory remains undisclosed, but the craftsmanship and storytelling are unmistakably Lure.
