My Father Blue: A Honduran Debut for the Garcia Family
The Garcia family’s first Honduran-made cigar, My Father Blue, is now shipping to retailers across the U.S. It marks a major expansion for the renowned cigar makers and a bold step into Honduran tobacco.
Honduran My Father Blue Now Shipping Nationwide
The celebrated Garcia family has officially expanded its cigar production into Honduras. Their newest release, My Father Blue, is the first cigar in the brand’s history to be made with Honduran-grown tobacco. Initially unveiled at the PCA trade show in New Orleans this past April, it is now being shipped to retailers.
More than just a new cigar, My Father Blue represents a strategic move for the family-owned company. Over the past three years, the Garcias have quietly acquired and developed farmland in Talanga, Honduras, where they now cultivate Corojo and Criollo tobacco. The growing region is approximately two hours from Danlí, the heart of Honduran cigar-making.
To support this new venture, the Garcias have also built a 78,000-square-foot factory in El Paraíso, where My Father Blue is produced. It’s a remarkable shift for a company long associated with Nicaraguan terroir.
The cigar itself features a Connecticut rosado broadleaf wrapper, while the binder and filler come entirely from their Honduran-grown tobaccos. This blend aims to offer something fresh to fans of My Father—maintaining the family’s signature quality while embracing a new flavour profile.
My Father Blue comes in four sizes, all packed in boxes of 20:
Petit Robusto: 4½ x 50 – $9
Robusto: 5¼ x 52 – $10.50
Toro: 6 x 54 – $12
Toro Gordo: 6 x 60 – $13
With this release, My Father Cigars now officially produces cigars in three countries: Nicaragua, Honduras, and the United States. It’s a testament to the brand’s growth and its willingness to innovate while staying true to its roots.
As the cigars begin arriving on shelves, aficionados can look forward to exploring this new Honduran expression from one of the most respected names in premium cigars.
