Nestor Miranda Releases a New Lancero

October 24, 2022 Inspector Z 2 min read

Nestor Miranda releases a new lancero. The Nestor Miranda Private Reserve Lancero is the first in a series of lanceros. As we reported last December, Nestor Miranda is on a mission to bring the classic and elegant vitola back in the favor of cigar enthusiasts. And the plan is to do that with a series of lanceros. All in small batches of 500 boxes of ten cigars. Each of the blends is personally selected by Nestor Miranda himself.

Lancero series

Later this month, the first of the series is debuting. The Nestor Miranda Private Reserve is Nestor Miranda’s personal blend. La Aurora is responsible for blending and producing the inaugural Nestor Miranda Lancero. But according to Jason Wood, Vice President of Miami Cigar Co, other factories will be part of the project as well.

Miami Cigar & Co, the company of Nestor Miranda, is working with My Father Cigars and Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez as well. Most of the Nestor Miranda lines come from My Father Cigars, with a few exceptions hailing from La Aurora in the Dominican Republic. The new Don Lino cigars will come from Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez.

The first of the series is a 6¾x40 Lancero, a little smaller and thicker than the classic Cuban lancero of 7½x38. The wrapper is Dominican Corojo. The binder is Criollo 98 from Nicaragua. The filler comes from Brazil, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic.

The cigars are debuting at Cava Cigars in Miami in the later part of this month. Other American retailers can get the cigars from March 1st. If some of the 500 boxes are reserved for the international distributors of Nestor Miranda is unknown.
