New Casa del Habano Opens in Querétaro, Mexico
Casa del Habano has opened a new franchise location in Querétaro, Mexico, continuing its global expansion. The new shop combines retail, lounge space, and a traditional Cuban cigar selection.
A New Cuban Cigar Destination in Querétaro
Querétaro sits north of Mexico City in the country’s central highlands. The city has seen rapid commercial growth in recent years.
The new Casa del Habano is located next to Antea Lifestyle Center, one of the largest shopping malls in Latin America. The shop occupies a mezzanine level inside a large office complex.
That building also houses restaurants and various retail outlets. The location targets both local patrons and business visitors.
Lounge Layout and Smoking Areas
The store features a walk-in humidor as its centrepiece. Two small indoor lounges sit adjacent to the retail area.
Each indoor lounge offers seating for roughly six guests. A small outdoor terrace provides additional space.
Smoking is permitted in all three seating areas. This includes both indoor lounges and the terrace.
As expected from the Casa del Habano format, the shop includes a small bar. Humidified lockers are also available for regular patrons.
Humidor Selection and Cuban Brands
The humidor carries a full range of major Cuban cigar brands. Shoppers will find offerings from Cohiba, Montecristo, Trinidad, and Romeo y Julieta.
At current exchange rates of roughly 18 pesos per U.S. dollar, prices place the Cohiba Siglo VI at $139.50. A Montecristo No. 2 sells for $55.15.
A Trinidad Fundador carries a price of $127.50. A Romeo y Julieta Churchill lists at $66.88.
The selection aligns with expectations for Casa del Habano locations worldwide.
Ownership and Expansion Plans
The Querétaro franchise operates under Mariano Azuela. Azuela also owns another Casa del Habano in León.
León sits roughly two hours from Querétaro and serves as an agro-industrial hub. The dual locations strengthen the brand’s footprint in central Mexico.
Future plans already exist for further development. Azuela intends to add an adjacent bar and restaurant.
The expansion would allow guests to dine before or after enjoying a cigar. That concept mirrors similar developments at other high-profile Casa del Habano locations.
