Noel Rojas Opens a New Factory in Nicaragua

October 25, 2022 Inspector Z 2 min read

The new Rojas Cigar Factory is the third factory that Rojas is opening. Previously Rojas had the Sabor de Esteli cigar factory and Tabacalera New Order of the Ages. Both were located in Esteli, and both closed down after a short period. With the third time is a charm, let’s hope that the Rojas Cigar Factory is here to stay.

The new factory is an old movie theatre. It shares that with the CLE Cigar Factory in Honduras, which also is an old movie theatre with the name El Aladino.

Starting February

The lease of the 7000 square feet (650 square meters) building starts in February. Renovations will start as soon as Rojas gets the keys. Rojas plans to build offices, meeting rooms, aging rooms, tobacco storage, and a packaging department next to the factory floor. There is room for approximately 40 pairs of rollers. There is an opportunity to increase the number of rollers as there is an option to create a second floor if needed.

Rojas has been working from a small factory in Texas, and he will incorporate the Texan look and feel into his new factory in Esteli. He expects to start production before the summer of 2021. The maximum capacity that the factory can produce is about 3 million cigars a year.

Rojas is planning to roll all his cigars at the new factory. What happens with his Texan factory is unknown at the moment. It is also unclear whether Rojas is going to roll private labels in his new factory. At his old factories, he did. The original releases from Jas Sum Kral came from Tabacalera NOA. Just as Xiphos Cigars, Ohana, Prendelo, and the now-discontinued cigar from Barry from The Cigar Authority, Kilo. Now that Noel Rojas opens a new factory in Nicaragua, we might see some of these brands make a comeback as well.
