O.M. Cigars has announced the Milestone 50th Birthday Blend, a limited box-pressed robusto created by Osvaldo Morales. The cigar began shipping this week, ahead of a planned January launch event in Virginia.
A Birthday Blend with a Long Lead Time
Osvaldo Morales turned 50 on Monday, December 22. Like many boutique cigar owners, he marked the occasion with a commemorative blend.
In this case, the cigar’s story started much earlier. The Milestone 50th Birthday Blend was rolled in April 2023. Morales chose to age the cigars extensively before release.
That decision allowed the blend to mature for more than two years before reaching retailers. The timing reflects a deliberate approach rather than a last-minute celebration release.
Blend and Vitola Details
The Milestone 50th Birthday Blend comes in a 5 x 50 box-pressed robusto format. The size aligns with classic proportions and broad consumer appeal.
An Ecuadorian habano wrapper covers the cigar. Beneath it sits an Indonesian Sumatra-seed binder.
The filler blend uses four different tobaccos. These include Dominican corojo, Dominican criollo 98, one leaf from Nicaragua, and one leaf from Pennsylvania.
This multi-country filler composition adds depth and complexity to the profile. It also reflects Morales’ interest in blending diverse tobacco origins.
Production and Factory Information
O.M. Cigars produced the Milestone blend at Tabacalera El Artista in the Dominican Republic. The factory completed production in April 2023.
Total production is limited to 5,000 cigars. This firm cap reinforces the milestone nature of the release.
Each cigar carries an MSRP of $9. O.M. Cigars is offering the blend in bundles of five and bundles of 10.
Packaging and Presentation
The bundles feature a distinctive image of Osvaldo Morales. The artwork depicts him in a Buddha-inspired style.
According to Morales, friends designed the image as a playful tribute. The design adds a personal and light-hearted element to the release.
The unconventional artwork sets the Milestone blend apart from more traditional birthday cigars.
Shipping and Launch Event Plans
Retailers began receiving the Milestone 50th Birthday Blend earlier this week. Distribution is already underway.
