Oliva releases new Serie V Melanio Limited Edition

May 10, 2022 Inspector Z 2 min read

Oliva releases new Serie V Melanio Limited Edition. For the third year in a row, the Nicaraguan cigar manufacturer is releasing a limited edition for their flagship line. And for 2019, the company picked a Diadema. The same size as the Cigar Aficionado Cigar of the Year but round instead of box-pressed.

Intertabac Trade Show

The cigar is being revealed today at the Intertabac trade show. The cigars will be shipped globally early October. And only 2500 boxes of ten cigars will be available, worldwide.

The cigar has a conical head instead of a pointy tip. The result of that is that the first two centimeters, the wrapper can be tasted. And then the other tobaccos come in, creating a superb experience according to the press release by J. Cortes. The blend of the cigar is the same as the regular production Oliva Serie V Melanio, yet this limited edition showcases what a difference the shape can do with a cigar.

Oliva Serie V Melanio

The Oliva serie V Melanio was introduced in 2012. It’s named after the patriarch of the Oliva family. In 1886 Melanio Oliva started to grow tobacco in Cuba. The cigar is made from Nicaraguan fillers and binder, with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. It received praise from day one, and in 2014 the Diadema became Cigar Aficionado’s cigar of the year.

In 2017, Oliva released the first Oliva Serie V Melanio Limited Edition, a double toro. The 2018 limited edition was a robusto. And soon the Oliva Serie V Melanio Diadema Limited Edition can be smoked all over the world.
