Ozgener Family Cigars Moves Production of Bosphorus to Tabacalera La Alianza, The Factory of E.P. Carrillo

Just a few weeks after the original release, Ozgener Family Cigars is moving the production of their inaugural Bosphorus line from Tabacalera Pichardo to Tabacalera La Alianza, the factory of Ernesto Perez Carrillo. The change in factory, and country, also includes a small change in the blend as the wrapper goes from Ecuadorian Sumatra to Ecuadorian Habana 2000. The double binder and filler will remain the same.

“Ernesto Perez-Carrillo is one of the most talented cigar makers in the industry‘s history,” Ozgener said. “His attention to detail, meticulousness, and eye on quality mirrors the values of my family. It’s how we conduct and have always conducted business.” But the move can’t be seen apart from the split between Tabacalera Pichardo’s parent company ACE Prime (now Luciano Cigars) and Crowned Heads, the company that distributes Ozgener Family Cigars and helped Tim Ozgener with the blends.

“Over two years of work went into determining Ozgener Family Cigars’ brand identity, and it to tells an emotional, personal story,” Ozgener said. “Ernesto has the ability to convey that story through the cigar. We work very well with together and look forward to more collaborations.” Rumours say that Ozgener and Perez-Carrillo are working on future projects.
