Ibis Luis and Anna Ayupova created Pangea Cigars. Both founders bring years of hands-on experience across adjacent luxury categories.
Luis is widely known for her Instagram account @cigarlover12, which counts more than 120,000 followers. She spent six years with Plasencia Cigars as a U.S. representative and brand developer. She has also advised several cigar companies on brand positioning, sales strategy, and market development.
Ayupova previously owned and operated a high-end cigar and wine club in California. Her background blends retail execution with curated luxury experiences.
Blending and Production Partners
Collaboration with Casa de Ortez
For its inaugural releases, Pangea Cigars partnered with Casa de Ortez. Master blender Indiana Ortez is overseeing production.
The company says the initial lines reflect shared values. These include tobacco integrity, thoughtful blending, and modern craftsmanship rooted in tradition. The founders emphasise process over speed.
First Blends and Release Plans
Pangea Cigars has not announced a release date yet. A company representative confirmed two blends for the debut portfolio. One will feature a Connecticut wrapper. The other will use a habano wrapper.
Full blend specifications and vitola details are expected next week. The company plans a measured rollout rather than a broad launch.

The name Pangea references the ancient supercontinent. The founders say it symbolises connection before division. They see cigars as a universal language.
