In celebration of its 180th anniversary, the iconic Partagás brand—under Habanos, S.A.—has released a new and exclusive vitola named “Cedros”. The launch was held at The Murray Hotel in Hong Kong, in collaboration with Pacific Cigar (exclusive distributor in the Asia-Pacific region) and Infifon HK (exclusive distributor for China). The event brought together over 180 guests for an evening of fine dining and cigar appreciation, wrapped in a festive atmosphere steeped in tradition.
The “Cedros” vitola, measuring 50 ring gauge by 135 mm in length, arrives in an elegant box of 18 cigars, each made Totalmente a Mano con Tripa Larga—“Totally Handmade with Long Filler”—using only the finest leaves from the famed Vuelta Abajo region in Pinar del Río, Cuba. Known globally for producing some of the finest tobacco on Earth, this region lends the Cedros its rich flavour profile and refined strength.
More than a commemorative release, Cedros is also a tribute to the Year of the Wood Snake in the Chinese lunar calendar. The symbolism of the snake—representing wisdom—and wood—signifying strength and growth—mirrors the enduring legacy of Partagás and the critical role of cedar in preserving cigar aromas throughout history.
This limited-edition cigar is distinguished by its light brown, oily wrapper, excellent draw, and compact ash. The smoke opens with deep Cuban dark tobacco notes and gradually reveals hints of cocoa and oak in later thirds, delivering a flavourful journey with a bold finish. With a smoking time of around 45–50 minutes, it offers a dense, aromatic experience that lingers long on the palate.
Each box is equipped with NFC technology and a foot ring, marrying tradition with modern innovation. Tasting notes recommend pairing the Cedros with long-aged spirits matured in white oak barrels—ideally those revealing nutty, chocolate, or vanilla undertones—to elevate the sensory experience to new heights.
