PCA exclusive cigar from Crowned Heads

July 19, 2022 Inspector Z 2 min read

PCA exclusive cigar from Crowned Heads. The cigar company from Nashville, Tennessee is announcing a cigar exclusively available to retailers who order at the PCA Convention & Trade Show next month in Las Vegas.

French food inspiration

Just as the La Careme, the inspiration for the name is from the French cuisine. Le Careme comes from the French chef Marie Antoine Careme. Le Patissier is French for pastry chef. Both blends use a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, but that is where the comparison stops.

The Le Patissier is a 6¼x44 Lonsdale. It comes from Tabacalera Pichardo in Esteli, Nicaragua where the La Careme comes from Ernesto Perez Carrillo’s factory in the Dominican Republic. The binder and filler are different than the La Careme too. La Patissier uses a binder from Jalapa, Nicaragua. The filler comes from two different regions in Nicaragua, and from Costa Rica.

“When we were approached to do a PCA 2021 exclusive we wanted to bring something special to the show,” says Jon Huber, co-founder of Crowned Heads, in a press release. “Pâtissier is an amazing expression of Connecticut broadleaf that exudes a unique combination of complexity, finesse, and balance. We’ve produced broadleaf-based blends with three other factories to this point; however, Pâtissier brings a different dimension to the profile that makes it stands on its own.”

The MSRP is $10.50 per cigar. The cigars come in boxes of 20. Le Pâtissier will only be available to retailers who place orders at the 2021 PCA Convention & Trade Show, which takes place July 10-13 in Las Vegas. The cigars will begin shipping this fall. International distribution partners for Crowned Heads can order the cigars, but only if they are present at the PCA Convention & Trade Show.
