Phoenicia and Habanos Releasing Regional Edition – The Sancho Panza ΟΜΗΡΟΣ
The largest distributor of Cuban cigars is Phoenicia, a Cyprus based company that supplies cigars Greece, Cyprus, the middle east and most of Africa. For two of their markets, namely Greece and Cyprus, Phoenicia and Habanos are releasing a regional edition, the Sancho Panza ΟΜΗΡΟΣ. It is the same size as the H. Upmann Magnum 54, 4¾x54 in size.
The name, ΟΜΗΡΟΣ, translates to Homer and it’s not a reference to The Simpsons but to the Greek poet Homer who wrote iconic works The Iliad and The Odyssey. And it’s fitting that a cigar from the Sancho Panza marca has a reference to literature, as Sancho Panza is a character from Don Quixote by Miquel de Cervantes. It would only be more fitting if Phoenicia and Habanos chose a Cervantes vitola for this release.
The cigars come in 10-count boxes that retail in Cyprus for 225 euros, or 22.50 euros (about $23) per cigar.
This release, even though it’s being released in 2022 falls under the 2020 Regional Edition program but was delayed as if mostly the case with special Cuban releases (I mean, where are the Novedosos? Those were supposed to be released in 2019 and have not seen a worldwide release yet).
