Plasencia Expands Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro Line with Robustus II

November 16, 2023 Inspector Y 2 min read

Plasencia Cigars has introduced a new addition to its Nicaraguan Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro line, known as The Robustus II, which is currently en route to retailers. This latest offering measures 5 1/8 inches in length with a 55-ring gauge and is presented in 10-count boxes.

The Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro line, an extension of Plasencia’s core Alma Fuerte range, debuted in 2021, distinguishing itself primarily through its wrapper. While the original Alma Fuerte features a dark cover leaf, the Colorado Claro adopts a considerably lighter wrapper. Plasencia notes that the Colorado Claro‘s wrapper, boasting a lighter Colorado Claro shade, was cultivated in Jalapa and aged for an impressive 10 years before being crafted into cigars. Despite the similarities in blends between the two lines, the Colorado Claro blend underwent slight adjustments to complement the lighter cover leaf. All the tobacco used in crafting these cigars is Nicaraguan and cultivated by the Plasencia family.

Plasencia has taken a measured approach in expanding its Colorado Claro line. Initially, it only offered the line in one size, the six-sided Sixto I. In 2022, a toro-sized Nestor IV was introduced. The newly unveiled Robustus II sets itself apart from the rest of the Alma Fuerte series by being the only cigar in the line rolled in a round shape, as opposed to the box-pressed format of the other sizes. Priced at $21.50 per cigar, the Robustus II joins its counterparts, maintaining the commitment to quality and craftsmanship that defines the Plasencia brand.

Both the Alma Fuerte and Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro cigars are meticulously crafted in Nicaragua at Plasencia Cigars S.A., solidifying the brand’s reputation for delivering exceptional cigars cultivated from Nicaraguan tobacco. Plasencia Cigars also has a production facility in Honduras and tobacco plantations all over the Caribbean.
