Pospiech Releases Second Shipment of The Shepherd
Pospiech has announced the second release of The Shepherd, a limited-edition cigar created with Matt Booth of Room101. Only 100 bundles are shipping to retailers, making this run far smaller than the original.
The Shepherd Returns After Two Years
First released in 2022, The Shepherd is a 5 3/4 x 50 robusto extra. The new shipment comes from the original stock made for the debut. Mike Palmer, national sales manager for Pospiech, confirmed these cigars were recently “found in our warehouse.”
Details Still Under Wraps
As with the first release, blend details remain a mystery. The wrapper is described as “really good,” while the binder is “strong enough to keep it all together.” The filler is said to be “leprechaun magic with a dash of fairy dust.”
The brand continues to keep the origin and factory undisclosed. This secrecy adds to the cigar’s allure, while the playful descriptions maintain the spirit of the project.
What’s New in 2025
Although the blend is unchanged, three differences set this shipment apart from the 2022 release.
Higher Price Point
The MSRP is now $15 per cigar, up from $14 in the first run.
New Packaging Artwork
The original 10-count bundles were plain. The 2025 bundles now feature artwork inspired by Samuel L. Jackson’s character Jules Winnfield from Pulp Fiction (1994).
Smaller Production
This second release totals just 1,000 cigars. By contrast, the first run consisted of 10,000 sticks, making this batch significantly more limited.
A Familiar Band and Message
The cigars carry the same band as the first release, reading Ezekiel 25:17. The verse, famously quoted in Pulp Fiction, declares: “I will carry out great vengeance on them and punish them in my wrath. Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I take vengeance on them.”
Shipping to Retailers
Bundles of The Shepherd began shipping to retailers yesterday. With such limited numbers, availability will be short-lived.
