Quesada Cigars Returns to Spain with Nativo Casa de Marcas
Quesada Cigars has appointed Nativo Casa de Marcas as its new commercial agent in Spain. This strategic partnership strengthens both companies and signals Quesada’s renewed commitment to the Iberian market.
A New Chapter for Nativo and Quesada
Quesada Cigars, a beloved Dominican cigar house, is returning to Spain. From August 1st, 2025, the brand will be represented by Nativo Casa de Marcas. Known as the commercial arm of Joya de Nicaragua in Spain, Nativo now adds a Dominican brand to its portfolio for the first time.
This marks a pivotal moment for Nativo. Until now, their focus remained exclusively on Nicaraguan brands. The addition of Quesada expands their offer and enriches it with Dominican heritage and craftsmanship. It also solidifies Nativo’s position as a serious player in premium cigar distribution across Spain.
A Legacy of Tobacco, Friendship and Soul
Quesada’s history dates back to the 19th century, when the family entered the cigar world through a tobacco debt. Five generations later, they continue crafting elegant cigars in Santiago de los Caballeros. Each cigar reflects tradition, soul, and purpose.
The decision to partner with Nativo wasn’t just strategic—it was personal. Daniel Barrios of Nativo said, “We share a vision of how cigars should be made. This partnership comes from friendship and mutual respect.”
Manolo Quesada echoed this sentiment. “Reuniting with Nativo felt like reuniting with ourselves,” he said. “Spain is part of our family roots, and returning now feels deeply emotional.”
A Carefully Planned Comeback
After years of inconsistent distribution, Quesada Cigars took time to plan their return. They sought partners who truly understood their ethos. Nativo fit that role perfectly.
Nativo brings deep market knowledge and an experienced sales team. Their logistics partner, COMET, will handle distribution. Both companies share a long-standing relationship with the Quesada family.
Quesada’s Spanish portfolio will include:
Casa Magna Colorado (Robusto and Torito)
Casa Magna Liga F (Robusto and Toro)
Quesada Oktoberfest (Bavarian)
Quesada Edición España (Robusto)
Commitment to the Spanish Market
Spain has always played a key role in Quesada’s journey. Patricia Quesada noted, “The Spanish market is a symbol—a global benchmark. Returning here is a privilege.”
This collaboration also renews a historic bond between Quesada and Joya de Nicaragua. Juan Ignacio Martínez of Joya said, “This is a natural evolution. Our brands are aligned, and our passion remains unchanged.”
With fresh energy, strong partnerships, and deep respect for the craft, Quesada Cigars is set to reconnect with Spanish tobacconists and cigar lovers. The legacy continues—this time with Nativo by their side.
