Registration Opens for 18th ProCigar Festival in the Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic’s annual ProCigar Festival returns for its 18th edition in 2026, now named “From Soil to Soul.” The five-day celebration runs from 15–20 February, starting in La Romana and ending in Santiago. Guests can expect premium cigars, factory tours, and vibrant cultural experiences.
A Celebration of Dominican Cigars
Organised by the Association of Dominican Cigar Manufacturers, the ProCigar Festival brings together the country’s top producers. Every major Dominican cigar company participates, offering visitors exclusive access to their factories and tobacco fields.
The event blends education and leisure. Mornings feature guided tours through plantations and production facilities. Afternoons are dedicated to relaxed smoking lunches, while evenings close with cigar dinners. The festival is as much about connecting with cigar culture as it is about meeting the makers behind world-renowned brands.
La Romana to Santiago
The festival begins in La Romana at the Casa de Campo resort, where attendees can enjoy beach activities and luxury surroundings. The highlight here is a tour of Tabacalera de Garcia, home to Romeo y Julieta, Montecristo, and H. Upmann.
For those who prefer, it’s possible to skip La Romana and start directly in Santiago—the heart of the Dominican cigar industry. Santiago hosts tours of factories and fields operated by brands such as Arturo Fuente, Davidoff, General Cigar, Altadis, Quesada Cigars, La Flor Dominicana, Casa Carrillo, Tabacalera Palma, De Los Reyes, and La Aurora.
What’s Included
Registration covers meals, transportation, and a generous goodie bag filled with cigars and smoking accessories. Additional cigars are given out daily during lunches and dinners, making the event a true aficionado’s dream.

The name ‘From Soil to Soul’ is not new. Cigar maker & author Didier v Houvenaghel (Nicarao, La Preferida) has been using that name for close to two decades for his book. The second edition of the book was released two years ago and is a must read for every cigar aficionado.
