Rocky Patel Unveils Opulent Releases: Meet the $100 Conviction and Flavor-Infused Dark Star

December 15, 2023 Inspector Y 2 min read

Rocky Patel has recently introduced two of his latest cigar brands to retail shops, marking a significant milestone with one of them being the most expensive cigar he has ever produced. Both Rocky Patel Dark Star and Rocky Patel Conviction made their way to cigar shops approximately 10 days ago.

Rocky Patel Conviction stands out as a single-size line, boasting an impressive price tag of $100 per cigar. Beyond its extraordinary presentation, Patel emphasizes that it is crafted with the oldest tobaccos from his extensive inventory. The blend incorporates leaves cultivated on his own Nicaraguan farms, including some remarkably aged tobaccos from his inaugural crop in 2014. Patel elaborates, “It’s got our oldest filler from both the farms in it.

Primarily composed of Nicaraguan tobaccos, Conviction features Condega and Estelí fillers, accompanied by a Jalapa binder. The wrapper is a high-priming leaf sourced from Mexico’s San Andrés Valley. This cigar is available in a single size—a box-pressed Toro measuring 6 1/2 inches by 52 ring gauge—and comes in boxes of 10.

Rocky Patel Dark Star, also recently hitting the shelves, is crafted in Honduras and includes an intriguing element in its tobacco blend—an infusion of tobacco grown in Honduras from a seed originating in Paraguay.

Dark Star‘s filler blend incorporates the Paraguayan-seed leaf, along with tobacco from the Jamastran Valley in Honduras and the Jalapa region of Nicaragua. The binder is Mexican San Andrés, while the Corojo-seed wrapper is cultivated in Honduras.
Dark Star is offered in four sizes, including three traditional sizes and one distinctive option: Robusto (5 1/2 by 50) with a suggested retail price of $10.50, Toro (6 by 52) priced at $11.50, Sixty (6 by 60) with a retail price of $12.50, and the uniquely shaped Short Star, measuring 4 by 60 and available for $11.25.
