RoMa Craft Tobac Unveils New Blend for Return of CroMagnon Cigars

August 24, 2023 Inspector Y 2 min read

Earlier this year, RoMa Craft Tobac removed the CroMagnon line from the order forms as the company stopped production in mid 2022 due to a lack of the high quality Connecticut Broadleaf that is used for the wrapper.

Next year the CroMagnon will return, but with a new blend. Instead of the Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, the new CroMagnon will sport a Pennsylvania broadleaf wrapper. The binder will change from Cameroon to a Sumatra Hybrid while the filler of the new blend comes from the Dominican and Nicaragua, instead of just Nicaragua for the old blend.

RoMa Craft can get the Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper they want, just only if they buy whole farm lots, which leaves the company with a lot of tobacco that they have no use for. That is not an option for a smaller company as RoMa Craft Tobac, so the choice was made to change the blend.

The first release will be a limited release of a CroMagnon Timeline, a 6½x50 Toro with a 109-style cap. The new blends will get a different colour band as well, to easily differentiate the two blends. The original blend might return as a limited edition, or as a line produced by another factory with a large tobacco library, but currently there are no plans.
