Scandinavian Tobacco Group Unveils Third Cohiba Weller Release with Barrel-Aged Binder
Scandinavian Tobacco Group has been working with several alcohol brands and probably the most famous is the annual Weller by Cohiba, a partnership with Weller Bourbon. The third release is ready to be shipped. The Connecticut Broadleaf binder of the cigar has aged in Weller Bourbon barrels.
The partnership was born with the idea to create a cigar that was meant to be paired with Weller Bourbon. The second edition, in 2022, came with a barrel-aged binder and this year it’s not any different. The Connecticut Broadleaf binder was aged in barrels, while the Nicaraguan wrapper, and the filler from Nicaragua and Brazil isn’t. There is only one vitola available. A 6×52 Toro.
The barrels are shipped from Kentucky, from the Buffalo Trace Distillery, to the General Cigar Dominicana factory where the tobacco is aged and the cigars are rolled.
