Sperlinga releases Volcanoes Line

October 24, 2022 Inspector Z 3 min read

Sperlinga releases Volcanoes Line. This is the first edicion limitada of the brand of Dorin Potolinca di Sperlinga and his wife Danays Leon. Creating Sperlinga as a cigar brand was an idea of Dorin Potolinca di Sperlinga while living in The United States in 2017, soon after he moved to the Dominican Republic pursuing his dream of making his own premium cigars. In 2018 Sperlinga Tobacco SRL was created for that purpose. The name Sperlinga corresponds to the nobility title of Dorin, Duke of Sperlinga.

Late in 2018, Dorin and Danays met through their passion for cigars, since then, together they have been working on their brand. At the moment, Sperlinga works on, what could be considered their permanent portfolio, Sperlinga, The Life Journey, and their first official Line and Limited Edition, The Volcanoes Line, this was Dorin´s first idea a few years ago, inspired by his original background, Dorin graduated as Geologist Engineer from the University of Iasi, Romania in 1983.

Volcanoes Line

The Volcanoes Line project has been worked with La Aurora Cigars Factory, directly with the very respected and knowledgeable, Master blender Manuel Inoa who developed the blends with the modest collaboration of Danays Leon.

The Volcanoes Line consists of 5 boxes, each named after one continent, Europe, Australia and Oceania, Asia, The Americas, and Africa. In each box, there are four cigars named after a volcano from the continent, for a total amount of twenty different cigars in shapes and blends. The tobacco used for the blends has been aged for eight years. Ecuador Sumatra, Colombia, Ecuador and Dominican Corojo, Nicaragua, Criollo 98, Connecticut, and Habana Vuelta Arriba are some of the varieties used for the blends.
