Surpassion Releases King of Battle to Honour 250 Years of the U.S. Army

January 8, 2026 Inspector X 2 min read

Surpassion Cigars has released King of Battle, a new regular production cigar marking 250 years of the U.S. Army. The release aligns with broader national commemorations tied to America’s founding and military heritage. The cigar reflects the brand’s veteran roots and its ongoing commitment to meaningful storytelling through tobacco.

A Military-Inspired Tribute

The announcement arrives as many private companies prepare products linked to the 250th anniversary of the United States. J.C. Newman Cigar Co. has confirmed a partnership with America250, the official public-private initiative behind the celebrations. Surpassion’s contribution takes a more personal angle. The company was founded by a U.S. Army veteran, which gives the tribute added weight and authenticity.

Blend and Construction Details

King of Battle is a 6 x 50 toro and joins Surpassion’s core portfolio as a regular production release. The cigar features a broadleaf wrapper paired with a Mexican San Andrés binder. Fillers come from the United States and the Dominican Republic. Surpassion states that all tobaccos used in the blend have aged for at least five years. The cigar is produced at Tabacalera La Isla in the Dominican Republic, the same factory responsible for the brand’s earlier releases.

Pricing and Availability

Each King of Battle cigar carries an MSRP of $13.50. The cigars ship in boxes of 10. Surpassion confirmed that shipments to retailers began last week. This positions the cigar as readily available rather than a short-run commemorative.

Building on the Queen of Battle

King of Battle follows last year’s release of Queen of Battle, also a 6 x 50 toro made at La Isla. While the format remains consistent, the blend differs, offering a separate expression within the same conceptual line.

Together, the two cigars establish a thematic series rooted in military history and service.

Veteran Roots and Brand Identity

Asad Imtiaz founded Surpassion Cigars in 2024. He previously worked at Old Virginia Tobacco Co. before launching his own brand. Vice President Manny Riaz also comes from the same retail background. Imtiaz has said that he began smoking cigars while serving in Iraq. He used cigars as a way to unwind during deployment. That experience continues to shape Surpassion’s branding and product philosophy.

King of Battle reinforces that identity through a release that blends aged tobacco, accessible pricing, and clear intent.
