Tabacalera Commissioned S.T. Dupont to make 250 Limited Edition Humidors That are Exclusive to the Spanish Market
Tabacalera S.L.U., the distributor of Habanos S.A. products in Spain, celebrates the 250th anniversary of the Royal Tobacco Factory of Seville, which first began producing snuff in 1758 and is regarded as the first tobacco factory in Europe. Later the factory also produced cigars. To pay tribute to this celebration, Tabacalera commissioned S.T. Dupont to make 250 individually numbered humidors that are exclusive to the Spanish market. Each humidor contains 100 cigars, the Montecristo Carmen. That is a new size to the brand, measuring 7 1/10 x 49 and has the factory name Paco. The vitola has been used for the La Casa del Habano exclusive Hoyo de Monterrey Escogidos, as well as a small group of Edición Regional releases. It is also the same vitola as the discontinued San Cristóbal de la Habana El Morro.
The name comes from the opera Carmen, where Carmen is a seductive cigar roller. Only the best 5 rollers of the H. Upmann factory were allowed to roll these cigars and the cigars have 2 additional rings. Each humidor costs €30.000 if you can find them.
