Tabacalera William Venture Plan For Comeback After Fire Devastation
Late September a devastating fire burned down Tabacalera William Ventura and Intercigar. William Ventura just broke ground, only a few hundred meters from their old factory. The plans are a bigger factory that has the capacity for 200 rollers on two levels plus an aging room for two million cigars. The new factory should be up and running in September 2014.
For the time being, Ventura is rolling cigars in their smaller factory, El Maestro. None of the tobacco was lost in the fire, so production can continue in El Maestro. Expectations are that by February the production should be at a normal level and that the backorders due to the fire will be gone.
We have no information on Intercigar.
