The Boveda Butler Returns as the CI Smart Sensor: A Bluetooth Humidity and Temperature Sensor for Cigar Humidors
Two years ago, Boveda discontinued its Boveda Butler. That was a smart sensor to be placed in a humidor and it measured the temperature and humidity and send it to an app on your phone via Bluetooth. Now the device is back as the CI Smart Sensor, only available on Cigar International.
Boveda did not create the device as it was a product of Bluestream Corp. Bluestream and Cigar International now team up to develop the concept further.
Cigars International has begun informing existing Butler users that it will take over the application, which will be known as the CI Smart Sensor. The company says the “basic functionality will remain, but the look and feel will change slightly as it assumes Cigars International’s branding.”
For cigar lovers that don’t want to deal with Cigars International, or for international customers that cannot purchase from the internet giant as they won’t ship internationally (ironically, with that name) there are other alternatives. Dominique London has the LCDT Sensor with practically the same functionality or the Govee sensor. Both have a big advantage over the SI Smart Sensor as they not only offer Bluetooth connections but also WIFI connections so you can measure the temperature and humidity of your humidor even when you’re far away from home.
