The Cohiba 55 Aniversario Humidor Sells for a Record $2.8 Million at Auction
The Cohiba 55 Aniversario humidor that was up for auction at the Cohiba 55 Aniversario Celebracion in Havana went for a record $2.8 million US Dollar to Jimmy Ng, a well-known character in the world of the Habano and owner of Casa Cubana in Singapore. The price is a new record, beating the 2020 Cohiba humidor from the Habanos Festival by about 400.000 USD.

Standing more than 5 1/2 feet tall, this massive humidor holds 550 Cohibas. It’s made of cedar, juniper, okoume and mahogany with mother-of-pearl inlays, and was designed by Nous Group and built by Humidores Habana.
Led by Dalia Padilla (centre), the bidding finally stopped at 2.8 million euros, a new record for a single humidor sold at any Habanos auction.
The humidor is large, 170cm long and is meant to evoke the architecture of the 1950s. Its myriad cabinets, compartments and drawers are designed to hold the 550 cigars. The humidor came with 550 Cohiba cigars, including some rare and limited editions.
