The H. Upmann Ingot Returns: Limited-Edition Cigar in Luxe Gold Packaging

November 7, 2024 Inspector X 2 min read

After an eight-year hiatus, Altadis U.S.A. is reintroducing The Banker By H. Upmann Ingot. With its striking gold bullion-inspired packaging, this limited edition returns to captivate cigar enthusiasts with a new blend and an affordable price point.

The Revival of an Iconic Design
First launched in 2015, The Banker By H. Upmann Ingot became instantly recognisable for its luxurious gold-bar style packaging, mirroring the legacy of Herman Upmann himself, who was a banker before creating his namesake cigar brand. Set to begin shipping on November 22, this edition revives the bold financial theme that helped the original Ingot make such a strong impression.

A Bold Blend in One Size
The 2024 Ingot, subtitled “Arbitrage,” comes in a singular, impressive Churchill format, measuring 7 inches in length with a substantial 56-ring gauge. This blend, however, brings something fresh to the table: the cigars are rolled in the Dominican Republic at Tabacalera de Garcia and feature an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper around a Nicaraguan binder, with filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. It’s a refined composition crafted to deliver a complex flavour profile, catering to experienced cigar aficionados and newer enthusiasts alike.

Limited Availability and Accessible Price
Despite the luxury aesthetic, the Ingot’s price is relatively accessible at $15 per cigar, with boxes priced at $180 each. However, availability is limited—only 5,000 boxes of 12 cigars will be released, so fans of H. Upmann and those drawn to exclusive editions should act quickly to secure theirs.

In sum, the 2024 H. Upmann Ingot is more than just a nostalgic release; it’s an affordable yet sophisticated offering that highlights Altadis U.S.A.’s commitment to both quality and creativity.
