The Stork Club Name Returns with a Cigar Concept

January 6, 2025 Inspector X 2 min read

The iconic Stork Club name has been revived, not as a nightclub, but as part of Landmark Hospitality’s cigar programme. This innovative approach includes cigar lounges, a membership programme, and branded cigars under the historic name.

The original Stork Club was a legendary Manhattan nightclub that operated from 1929 to 1965. Known for its celebrity clientele, including movie stars and monarchs, the club was a symbol of glamour and exclusivity. Its midtown location is now Paley Park, named after Samuel Paley, founder of La Palina cigars. Landmark Hospitality has embraced this storied legacy by reintroducing the name in a fresh and modern context.

Landmark operates four Stork Club cigar lounges, with a fifth location set to open soon. These exclusive venues also feature the Stork Club Cigar Club, a membership programme for aficionados seeking a premium experience. Adding to the appeal, the Stork Club-branded cigars are a central part of the concept.

In collaboration with Kingmakers Cigars, Landmark has launched the Stork Club No. 53. This 6 x 52 Toro features a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and Nicaraguan fillers. Priced at $15 each, the cigars are exclusively available at Landmark’s lounges and Kingmakers’ website. Kingmakers, known for producing cigars in Nicaragua, has kept the name of its manufacturing partner undisclosed. The company is also recognised for creating private label cigars for WNBA star Kelsey Plum and the country band Midland.

Landmark Hospitality’s reinvention of the Stork Club blends historical allure with modern luxury, offering a unique experience for cigar enthusiasts. Whether through its lounges, membership programme, or exclusive cigars, the Stork Club’s name continues to evoke sophistication and exclusivity.
