Toscano Brenta Returns to the U.S. as Regular Production Cigar

August 7, 2025 Inspector X 2 min read

Toscano’s Brenta cigar is officially back on American shelves—this time as a regular production line. Known for fire-cured blends, Toscano breaks new ground with the air-cured Brenta.

A New Direction for Toscano

Originally released in autumn 2024 as a limited edition, the Brenta marks a bold shift for Toscano. It was the first time the Italian brand used air-cured tobacco instead of its traditional fire-cured leaves.

The blend features Nostrano del Brenta, a dark, air-cured Havana varietal grown in Italy. The tobacco is aged for three to five years, undergoes re-fermentation, then matures for an additional six months.

This meticulous process produces a mellow-bodied cigar with a complex and evolving flavour profile. Tasting notes include:

  • Hazelnut

  • Walnut

  • Leather

  • Dry florals

  • A touch of wood

Toscano suggests pairing the Brenta with Caribbean rums or rye whiskey.

A Toscano Like No Other

The Brenta stands apart from Toscano’s traditional offerings. It includes a binder leaf, a rarity for the brand. And because it uses air-cured tobacco, it requires humidor storage—unlike most Toscano cigars that are shelf-stable.

The cigar measures 4 1/8 inches (4.14) x 56 ring gauge, cut open on both ends. That’s about half the length of a typical Toscano, but with plenty of bold flavour.

From Limited Launch to Permanent Line

Initially released through the Premium Cigar Association’s (PCA) Product Hub, the Brenta was exclusive to PCA members for three weeks. Toscano also donated a portion of early sales to the trade group.

Only 20,000 cigars were made for that limited run. Now, the Brenta joins Toscano’s permanent U.S. portfolio, priced at $9 per cigar, available in 20-count boxes.

Luciano Simeone, USA Director of Manifatture Sigaro Toscano, praised the cigar’s reception:

“The return of the Toscano Brenta is a reflection of the extraordinary response it received. Smokers recognised its authenticity, elegance, and Italian soul.”
