Tradecraft Cigars Begins Shipping The Vitruvian Toro

January 30, 2026 Inspector X 2 min read

Tradecraft Cigars has started shipping The Vitruvian, the brand’s third core line, to retailers. The release continues the Blumenthals’ measured expansion, with a single vitola designed for balance rather than brute strength.

A New Core Line for Tradecraft Cigars

Tradecraft Cigars was founded by Gary and Robert Blumenthal. They represent the fourth and fifth generation of a long cigar family legacy. The pair also own Tinder Box International.

The Vitruvian becomes the company’s third permanent line. It follows the debut of The Gladius and The Azorian. Those lines launched in November 2025 at Tinder Box Haverford in Pennsylvania.

Tradecraft positions The Vitruvian for smokers who value nuance. The cigar targets complexity without aggressive strength. The company describes it as a modern, refined offering.

Blend and Tobacco Composition

The Vitruvian comes in a single 6 x 50 toro format. The wrapper uses Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed tobacco sourced from ASP. This choice sets a lighter, more elegant tone.

An Ecuadorian Sumatra-seed binder supports the structure. The filler blend adds depth through multiple regions and varietals.

Inside, smokers will find Dominican criollo 98 seco and corojo seco. The blend also includes Ecuadorian Puntiao viso. Tobacco from Nicaragua’s Jalapa region rounds out the profile.

This combination suggests layered flavour development. Expect balance rather than raw intensity. Tradecraft clearly aims for precision.

Production and Blending Collaboration

All Tradecraft core lines come from Tabacalera William Ventura in the Dominican Republic. Wiber Ventura works closely with the Blumenthals on blending.

This partnership underlines a focus on consistency and craftsmanship. The same factory produces The Gladius, The Azorian, and now The Vitruvian.

Pricing and Packaging Details

Tradecraft prices The Vitruvian at $14.50 per cigar. The cigar ships in 12-count boxes. Each box carries a suggested retail price of $174.

The single-vitola approach simplifies retail placement. It also reinforces the cigar’s intended identity.

Looking Ahead for Tradecraft Cigars

A fourth core line is already in development. The Blumenthals are collaborating with Hostos Fernández of Tabacalera La iSla.

Robert Blumenthal confirmed the upcoming release will feature a Sumatran-forward blend. The cigar will target full-bodied smokers. Further details remain forthcoming.
