Trinidad Celebrates 55 Years with a Grand Event in Doha
On December 7th, the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center became the stage for a remarkable celebration marking the 55th anniversary of Trinidad cigars. Hosted by Habanos, S.A., in partnership with Phoenicia Cyprus Ltd. and Qatar Duty Free, the event spotlighted new product launches, cultural performances, and tributes to the brand’s legacy.
Guests from 43 countries gathered to experience the unveiling of the Trinidad Cabildos Limited Edition 2024 and the Trinidad Robustos Extra. A highlight of the evening was the announcement that Phoenicia Cyprus would take over cigar operations at Hamad International Airport starting in 2025, reinforcing Doha’s position as a hub for cigar enthusiasts.
The night began with a cocktail reception featuring Trinidad Vigía and Trinidad Topes, accompanied by Taittinger Champagne. Attendees explored displays of classic cars and luxury watches, adding a touch of opulence to the celebration. The Mayyas, a Lebanese dance group, provided an unforgettable performance, setting the tone for a night of elegance and artistry.
As the event progressed, key figures from Habanos, S.A., and Phoenicia Cyprus reflected on Trinidad’s history while introducing the Cabildos, a cigar rooted in Cuban cultural heritage. Culinary highlights included a gourmet dinner by the Kempinski Hotel and bespoke cocktails inspired by Havana, designed to complement the cigars.
The evening concluded with live music from The Managers, a band composed of S.T. Dupont executives, and the ceremonial cutting of the final cigar of the night, the Trinidad Fundadores. Attendees departed with commemorative gifts, marking the end of an evening that celebrated both tradition and innovation.
This milestone event underscored Trinidad’s legacy as a symbol of Cuban craftsmanship and culture, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
