Uganda gets a Habanos lounge. The Cuban Exclusive cigar store in Uganda’s capital Kampala is now an official Habanos Specialist and Habanos Lounge. In the last year, the exclusive Habanos distributor for Africa, Phoenicia has been granting the Habanos Specialist status to several shops on the African continent. Cuban Exclusive is the latest addition to the growing number of Habanos specialists in Africa. Phoenicia T.A.A. Cyprus uses a local distribution partner in Uganda, Cafesserie Uganda Ltd.
The shop has a beautiful and luxurious space where customers can buy the best Cuban brands and enjoy their cigars in luxury. There is a large walk-in humidor, with optimal climate conditions to control humidity and temperature for storing cigars. The lounge of the shop has a tasteful design where cigar aficionados can enjoy cigars in a comfortable setting. The shop is located in the Village Mall in Kampala.
Habanos concepts
Habanos works with several concepts, retail concepts, and experience concepts. Cuban Exclusive falls under both types being a Habanos Specialist and a Habanos Lounge.
Habanos Specialists are tobacconist retail stores with space for a walk-in humidor. Because that is one of the requirements to become a Habanos Specialist. Other requirements are certificates from the Habanos Academy, the Senior level. These courses are only given by certified Habanos Academy Masters. Plus all Habanos Specialists are required to visit Cuba on a study trip organized by Habanos or its regional distributor. Becoming a Habanos Specialist allows the retailer to purchase a wider variety of Cuban cigars. Which selection is available to regular shops, Habanos Points, and Habanos Specialists depends on the regional distributor. Habanos Specialists also get an allocation of the annual Edicion Limitada releases from Habanos and the Edicion Regional for their territory.
A Habanos lounge is a lounge where a good selection of Cuban cigars is available for the customers of the lounge. Certain quality standards have to be met before being eligible to qualify as a Habanos Lounge.
