VegaFina expanding the exclusivo series
VegaFina expanding the exclusivo series. In the recent past, VegaFina has released cigars exclusive for the Benelux, Germany, Portugal, the Dominican Republic, and other countries. But now there is a new country to add to that list, Austria. Retailers in Austria are selling the VegaFina CIndobona Exclusivo Austria.
The VegaFina Vindobona Exclusivo Austria comes from Tabacalera de Garcia in the Dominican Republic. All but one VegaFina cigars come from the largest factory on the island. Only the VegaFina Fusion Edition comes from another factory, from the Great Wall Cigar Factory in China. You can read our review on that cigar here.
The blend
The cigar is made with filler from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The binder is from Nicaragua and the wrapper comes from Ecuador. The cigar is only available as a 6¼x50 Toro. There are only 1230 boxes of 10 cigars available, and only in Austria.
The name is a nod to the history of Austria’s capital Vienna. The beautiful city, worthy of a visit, was once a military camp during the Roman Empire. The name of that camp is Vindobona, which over the centuries became Vienna.
VegaFina
In 1998, the Spanish tobacco monopoly Tabacalera came out with the VegaFina brand. Since then, a lot has changed. Tabacalera no longer holds a monopoly. The company merged with their French counterpart Seita into Altadis. Then Altadis became part of Imperial Tobacco. Last year Imperial Tobacco sold its premium cigar division to Chinese investors. But VegaFina is still going strong. It has a strong foothold in many European countries and even cigar enthusiasts in the United States are starting to notice VegaFina
