Warped Corto Maduro Ships: A Darker Turn for a Fan Favourite
Warped Cigars is turning up the intensity with the release of Corto Maduro, a full-bodied Nicaraguan smoke that began shipping to retailers on 6 May 2025. First unveiled at the PCA trade show in April, this new iteration marks a bolder chapter for the Corto line, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
Kyle Gellis, founder of Warped Cigars, explained that Corto Maduro was created to offer a deeper, darker experience than the original. The blend features a rich Mexican San Andrés wrapper atop an all-Nicaraguan filler and binder composition. Most notably, it includes medio tiempo—a rare, potent leaf that grows above the ligero priming—sourced from Estelí, adding serious strength and complexity to the cigar’s profile.
The initial release is a box-pressed robusto named X46, measuring 4½ inches by 46 ring gauge. It comes in 20-count boxes with a suggested retail price of $12.95 per cigar before local taxes. While the original Corto is rolled at the Aganorsa Leaf factory, this Maduro version is crafted at NACSA (Nicaraguan American Cigar S.A.), also based in Nicaragua.
Gellis has hinted that this is only the beginning—additional vitolas of Corto Maduro are expected to roll out later in the year, expanding what already promises to be a highly anticipated line extension.
With its bolder flavour, meticulous construction, and nod to the strength-loving aficionado, Corto Maduro is poised to become a standout in Warped’s portfolio and a must-try for fans of rich, full-bodied cigars.
