Weekly news week 6 2021. We shine a light on people that made the cigar industry what it is today. People that are legends within the industry. But some of them don’t get the credit they deserve or are on the verge of being forgotten. That’s why once a month, we write about one of these special men. This week we wrote about Julio Eiroa, who’s still going strong.
Reviews
As always we published two reviews. Two cigars with the Chinese Zodiac Calendar as a theme. The last cigar review of the Year of the Rat is the Liga Privada year of the rat. And the first cigar for the Year of the Ox is the Dominican VegaFina Year of the Ox.
New cigars
This week brought us a lot of news. More Cavalier Genenve and Illusione cigars are available in Norway. Nestor Miranda is releasing the first of his series of lancero series. Condega and Umnum cigars will soon be available in Poland through Cigar Koneser. Crowned Heads is releasing the La Careme Belicosos Finos LE 2021. And CAO is coming with the Arcana Mortal Coil.
The annual Saint Patrick’s Day cigars from Alec Bradley are coming too. For the 8th time in succession, the company is releasing the Alec Bradley Black Market Filthy Hooligan. And for the third time in succession, the younger sibling, Filthy Hooligan Shamrock, is also being launched. And to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Casdagli Cabinet Selection, the Rosetta vitola is available with a Maduro wrapper.

The German government is proposing a tax raise in annual steps for the next five years. Davidoff hires Luc Hyvernat as the new senior Vice President chief commercial officer. Don Roger Duarte is retiring, with Fernando Navarro taking control over day to day operations. Hiram & Solomon cigars are now officially back in Germany with Casagranda Cigars. And Habanos awards two shops in Ivory Coast with the Habanos Specialist status. Drew Estate updates packaging of the three Undercrown blends. This is the weekly news for week 6 of 2021.
