Xikar Comes With a 150.000 Dollar Cutter
The world’s most iconic cigar cutter is partnering up with Jacob & Co, a jewelry company from New York. The XIKAR Xi Dueling Dragons Chasing Flaming Pearl is the first of a series of a unique collaboration between the two brands. The companies will offer made to order accessories with the finest gemstones and diamonds available.

The XIKAR Xi Dueling Dragons Chasing Flaming Pearl is a one-of-kind cutter. There is only one piece made and it is gem packed with details. The base of the cutter is the well-known butterfly, or teardrop, Xikar Xi2 cutter with stainless steel blades. But then Jacob & Co did their art. The body and handles are 18-carat gold. Then jewelers set almost 2000 red rubies by hand on the body and handles. The rubies add up to a total of 22.5 carats.
But that’s not it. On each side, a dragon comes out of the handle, with the tails meeting at the pivoting point at the bottom of the cutter. In between the heads of the dragons is a pearl, carried by golden flames. The inspiration comes from an Asian legend of two dragons chasing a flaming pearl. It is a symbol of luck, wisdom, and prosperity. The legend is used in art and historical items many times.
The collaboration
In a press release, Michael Giodano from Quality Importers says “When we purchased the XIKAR brand, the first idea I had was to design a ‘museum piece. Something that would not only be a first of its kind in all aspects for XIKAR, but also for the accessories market itself. When I mentioned the idea to Jimmy Miudo, our VP of marketing, the idea was quickly developed and became what we see before us now. It is a stunning one-of-a-kind piece. The team at Jacob and Co. loved our idea and was instrumental in turning our concept into reality. We’re looking forward to building upon this partnership with them.”
