Zenith comes with Cohiba 55 Aniversario watch
Zenith comes with Cohiba 55 Aniversario watch. The Swiss watchmaker and the marketing department of Habanos come with a new watch to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Cuban flagship, Cohiba. The watch matches perfectly with the Cohiba 55 Anniversario accessories from S.T. Dupont.
The Zenith Cohiba 55 Aniversario is a Zenith Chronomaster Open. For the watch geeks, it has an El Primero open caliber 4061. The size of the watch is 42 mm. It is a steel watch. The band is alligator leather, and it’s black to fit with the design of the watch. Zenith is using the iconic black & white checkers on the Cohiba ring in the design as well as the yellow. The hands are yellow. On the front of the watch, you don’t see the Cohiba 55 Aniversario logo. That logo is only visible on the transparent back of the watch, which exposes the automatic mechanism of the watch. As this is a watch to celebrate 55 years of Cohiba, only 55 pieces are available worldwide.
Previous collaboration
This is not the first time that Zenith and Habanos work together for the Cohiba brand. Five years ago, at the 50th birthday of Cohiba, both companies released the Zenith El Primero Chronomaster 1969 Cohiba Edition. And if you now think that 1969 is a mistake and should be 1966, you are wrong. The Cohiba brand was born in 1966, but the Zenith El Primera Chronomaster saw the daylight in 1969.
Of the Zenith El Primera Chronomaster 1969, Cobina Edition 50 rose-gold versions were made. And 500 stainless steel versions. One of these watches was stolen from the 5th Avenue/Habanos booth at the Intertabac trade show a few years ago.
In 2017 Zenith and Habanos collaborated again with a watch for the Cohiba brand. This time the Cohiba Maduro 5 series were the inspiration for the watch.
Other Zenith Habanos collaborations
Zenith also creates watches for other Habanos brands. There is a series of Zenith Trinidad watches. Plus the Swiss timekeeper created two different watches for Romeo y Julieta’s 145th birthday. One for him and one for her.
